| In 1996 an investigation was launched against the Clinton administration for improper use and access of FBI documents. It seems that they had used the files of the bureau in order to illegally gather information on hundreds of individuals. Many of the files were of previous Republican White House officials.
Craig Livingstone was the name on the controversy, but it was Hillary Clinton who was scrutinized for pushing to hire the unqualified Livingstone and requesting and reading the files herself. The investigation lacked a smoking gun and Livingstone resigned, leaving the Clintons with a scapegoat and able to walk away unscathed, like always. |
