Mark Ruffalo, the liberal actor most famous for his recent role as The Hulk, in “The Avengers” franchise, is criticizing MSNBC and NBC News for hiring too many “white conservatives.”

The actor, who has been quite vocal about his progressive politics in the past, shared a petition over the weekend, demanding NBC to stop “promot[ing] right-wing hate.”

Ruffalo’s petition highlighted NBC’s hiring of former President George W. Bush’s spokeswoman Nicole Wallace, Greta Van Susteran and Megyn Kelly former anchors at Fox News, a conservative columnist at the Washington Post George Will, and conservative radio show host Hugh Hewitt.

The petitioners have accused MSNBC and NBC of “pushing out black and brown voices and filling its network with hard-line extreme conservatives.” It is still not clear though, how the petitioners have determined that NBC’s newly hired employees are “hard-line extreme conservatives.”

“NBC had troubling ties to [President Donald] Trump during the presidential campaign and gave the racist sexual predator a national platform,” the petition stated, referring to the president’s former reality show, “The Apprentice,” which aired on the network. “Now MSNBC, too, is tilting to the right. We need to let NBC executives know that there will be a sharp backlash if MSNBC becomes another platform for right-wing hate.”

Ryan Grim, reporter for Huffington Post, reported last month that Andy Lack, chairman of MSNBC and NBC News, is “resisting the resistance” by hiring conservative show hosts and contributors. Grim also asserted in his report that Lack has effectively “targeted the network’s progressive programming” since he joined the network in 2015.
