Looking Behind Nancy Pelosi’s “Red Threat”

Is the Russian threat real or all hype?

As Democrats continue their apoplectic fit over Russia’s alleged meddling in the election, the real propaganda is right in front of us.

Since 2005, Russia Today (known as RT) has been streaming content into the United States (and around the world).

RT has several channels including RT America, which is based out of Washington, D.C. and maintains a daily evening schedule from 4 p.m. to midnight Eastern.

As you would suspect, Russia Today is funded by the Russian government and has an official budget of only $300 million according to the Moscow Times, but other sources have reported budgets in excess of $1.4 billion, which is more believable.

Like its American propaganda counterpart, Voice of America, the broadcasts produced by RT are largely only seen outside of its own borders.

However, unlike our own weak propaganda network, that goes so far as to highlight Black Lives Matter, RT covers mainly American politics rather than its own.

And they do it with established media figures.

Remember Larry King and his suspenders? No, he didn’t retire; he now hosts a show on RT America called Politicking with Larry King.

Former MSNBC host Ed Schultz moved his program, News with Ed Schultz, over to RT America.

Liberal radio host Thom Hartmann, who landed in Talkers Magazine top ten, is now broadcasting on RT America with his show, The Big Picture.

Then you have a little known guy names Sean Stone, whose claim to fame is his association with his father, Oliver Stone.  Stone hosts a show on RT called Buzzsaw.

What do King, Schultz, Hartmann and Stone all have in common? That’s right . . . they’re liberals.

But that’s not to say that RT America is a “liberal” network.

Their modus operandi is to disrupt the government establishment and diminish the reputation of the U.S. government among Americans.

To libertarians and a large swath of Trump supporters, they are very late to the game.

Congress alone does an incredible job of diminishing its own reputation.

Given that RT is a government propaganda machine, they make the mistake of assuming that the power of America lies within the organization of its government.

But American patriots, going back to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, know the sober reality that government is not a strength, it’s either a “dangerous servant” or a “fearful master.”

If anything Russia Today is helping America by putting government back into that “dangerous servant” category.

Politicians like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and others, will always position government as a fearful master . . . and that’s yet another reason why are in full “Red Threat” mode.
