The group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense has successfully introduced legislation in the Rhode Island Senate that would not only prohibit sales to any individual convicted of domestic abuse crimes, but would also require them to turn in their guns to local law enforcement.

The new legislation will also apply to misdemeanor convictions.
