Jesse Watters, Fox News host, announced late on Wednesday that he is taking a sudden vacation from his show, “The Five” after receiving harsh criticism for his sexually charged remarks about Ivanka Trump.

“I’m going to be taking a vacation with my family, so I’m not going to be here tomorrow,” Watters said during his show, according to reports. “I’ll be back on Monday, so don’t miss me too much.”

His sudden departure comes only three days after his show was moved into the prime-time slot. Brian Stelter of CNN noted that Watters will miss two days of his first week in prime time and his weekend show too.

During his show on Tuesday night, Watters commented on the way President Donald Trump’s daughter held the microphone while talking about women’s rights at a panel discussion in Germany.

“It’s funny. The left says they really respect women and then when given an opportunity to respect a woman like that they boo and hiss … so I don’t really get what’s going on here, but I really liked how she was speaking into that microphone,” Watters said.

Watters made a gesture with his hand tilted toward his mouth as he made the comment and then also gave a smirk to his co-hosts.

The very next morning however, Watters justified that his remarks were not, in any way, meant to be sexual.

“During the break, we were commenting on Ivanka’s voice and how it was low and steady and resonates like a smooth jazz radio DJ,” he said. “This was in no way a joke about anything else.”

Watters’ comments come in the wake of Fox News’ severing of ties with Chairman Roger Ailes and former host Bill O’Reilly over a series of sexual harassment allegations.

The TV cable network fired O’Reilly last week.

A few weeks after the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States, his daughter, Ivanka Trump, secretly met with the head of Planned Parenthood, Politico revealed on Thursday. The meeting had not been reported before that.

Reportedly, the meeting was requested by Ivanka, who wanted to know more about how the organization worked. The meeting between the two women was meant to open up a dialogue on the heated issue of abortion, as President Trump had announced during his campaign trail that he would defund Planned Parenthood in a bid to support his pro-life stance.

“The purpose of the meeting, from Cecile’s point of view, was to make sure that Ivanka fully understood what Planned Parenthood does, how it is funded, and why it would be a terrible idea for Planned Parenthood to be removed from being able to see Medicaid patients,” executive vice president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Dawn Laguens, told Politico. “The main thing that Cecile Richards was doing was explaining that the money doesn’t actually go to abortions — we get reimbursed the same way a hospital does. We were clearing up misinformation about how this works.”

The First Daughter has focused on advocating for women’s issues and Planned Parenthood isn’t the only progressive organization she has reached out to. According to Politico’s report, she has also met with the National Partnership for Women and Family and the National Women’s Law Center.

However, her efforts to cross partisan divides has not impressed many in the progressive movement, who claim that she can’t “have it both ways.”

“You don’t get to say, I’m all for economic empowerment, and ignore that 30 percent of wage gains are directly attributable to access to birth control. You don’t get to say women should have great childcare when maternity benefits are on the chopping block,” Laguens said, reports Politico.

Cecile Richards has also criticized the first daughter publicly after their meeting, disapproving of her “deafening” silence on the GOP’s American Health Care Act.

Meanwhile, Trump defended herself and explained why she hasn’t been so outspoken about social issues.

“I would say not to conflate lack of public denouncement with silence. I think there are multiple ways to have your voice heard. In some ways, it’s through protest or calling on the nightly news and talking about or denouncing every issue which you do not agree with,” she said in an interview with CBS that aired Wednesday. “Other times it is quietly and directly and candidly – so where I disagree with my father, he knows it and I express myself with total candor where I agree.”

Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, have become known as the “West Wing Democrats” as both share liberal views and have supported Democrats up until Donald Trump started his campaign for the Presidency.
Kushner, who has no political experience and is the son of a wealthy developer himself, has amassed significant power within the White House and is reportedly in the process of pushing out advisors such as Stephen Bannon and Kellyanne Conway who have embedded conservative views.

She stands out in a crowd, but is she good for America?

Setting off an avalanche of outrage, the news that Ivanka Trump will be getting her own office in the West Wing of the White House, wasn’t received too well by a lot of people. However, many still believe that just because something is out of the ordinary doesn’t mean it will be all negative.

Many opine that one of the greatest assets of President Trump is the knack to identify great talent and apply it to the right place. His daughter is indeed considered great talent and her voice in the administration could prove to be quite fruitful in the years to come.

Let’s not forget that the 2016 presidential elections were also something out of the ordinary. Donald Trump was elected as the 45th president of the United States because he did not fit the description of a typical Washington politician. He’s obviously not going to do things the old Washington way; it is pretty clear to all of us now that the Washington way hasn’t been working.

After stirring a political firestorm and a barrage of comments from politicians, the press, and the American people, Ivanka announced that she will be a federal employee, take the title ‘assistant to the president,’ not be paid for her work at the White House and be formally bound by the federal ethics laws she was already voluntarily following. But even that has done very little to calm the storm.

No explanation, no matter how elaborate, has dispelled concerns among watchdogs and even feminists who believe that Ivanka – with absolutely no Foreign Service or government experience – only got this job because her father could give it to her.

Cynics continue making snap judgments, questioning the President and his close aides’ motives, and prophesizing terrible outcomes. Their farsightedness would have been indeed worthy of applause if their vision wasn’t so clouded by a lethal combination of sexism, envy and political miscalculation.

Ivanka Trump is successful, beautiful, talented, and her greatest asset is that she has the trust and ear of the most powerful man in the world, her father, the President of the United States of America.

Ivanka’s success and her connection to women and millenials is perceived as a threat by those who want to see Donald Trump falter in his mission to make America great. On the flip side, conservatives take issue with Ivanka’s liberal views and agenda that is driven by identity politics.

Is Ivanka an asset or will she move the President further away from an anti-Establishment agenda?
