Obama Sued over Amnesty

Joining forces with notorious Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, public interest attorney Larry Klayman has filed suit against President Obama to halt his immigration plans.

The case, Arpaio v Obama (14-cv-1966), was filed by Klayman in Washington, D.C.

Obama announced on November 20th that under his own authority, he would grant amnesty to 4.7 million illegal aliens.

Upon filing the complaint, Klayman stated, “Obama’s form of amnesty violates the U.S. Constitution, plain and simple. The President does not have the authority to rewrite immigration laws as legislation and national policy are enacted by Congress, not by the President.”

The judge in the case, U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell has ordered attorneys to submit their schedule of meetings, conferences and hearings concerning the case.

President Obama is being represented by attorneys from the U.S. Department of Justice.

While Obama being sued over amnesty plans is a new development, the president has been sued numerous times. The incoming Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, has personally sued Obama 25 times alone.

Earlier in the year, Klayman succeeded in temporarily enjoining the National Security Agency from spying on Americans.
