Michigan

2016 Electoral College

Donald Trump won the election on November 8th, but it isn’t final until the 538 members of the Electoral College vote later this month.

The official voting happens on December 19th and the day can’t come fast enough for some members as death threats continue to pour in.

Michael Banerian is a member of the Electoral College and is bound by law to vote for Donald Trump as the winner of his home state Michigan. Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t vote for anyone else.

The facts don’t get in the way of the people that are making Electoral College death threats.

Banerian went on CNN to describe the many attacks he has been receiving from angry Trump haters.

Banerian says he isn’t the only one that is being threatened and harassed during an interview on Fox News.

The outrage and the fallout continue from historically shocking win by Trump. Ironically the outrage is coming from the same side that attacked Trump for saying he may not accept the results of the election.

Do you think the police should take the Electoral College death threats seriously? Let us know your thoughts below.

Hillary Clinton after the 2016 election.

We have not heard much from Hillary after she lost the most incredible election in modern history, but now she surfaces to reach a new low.

Hillary Clinton is now joining the Green Party’s Jill Stein in an effort to do a recount in several battleground states.

Right now a recount of the votes is happening in Wisconsin after Jill Stein raised enough money to have a recount.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign said over the weekend it would be involved and help in the recount efforts.

The campaign probably doesn’t remember this video where Hillary spoke about the reasons why Trump should accept the election results.

It is easy to tell people to accept the results when you think you are going to win. She didn’t win and now is going against all her own advice and supporting the recount.

Wisconsin started the recount by hand today. Jill Stein and her team are working on getting recounts in Pennsylvania and Michigan as well.

The election ended with Trump having 306 electoral votes. He needed 270 to win.

If for some reason, the states come back with a different result on the recount, then Hillary could become the president.

Pennsylvania has 20 electoral votes, Michigan has 16 and Wisconsin has 10. If the vote was reversed in all three, then that would leave Trump with 260 electoral votes and it would give Hillary the win.

If Trump retained any one of the three states und recount, he will remain the president elect.

Hillary’s hypocrisy shines even after losing the first time election, but hopefully after this recount, this will be the last time she will lose this election.

Do you think Hillary has a chance to win in the recount? Let us know in the comments below.

parrot

Well, this is a story you don’t read every day. A Michigan court is trying to decide if a parrot can be used as a witness to a murder. That’s right, a parrot. A “polly wants a cracker” kind of bird.

Last year, Martin Duram was found dead in his Michigan home with multiple gunshots. His wife Glenna is the main suspect.

The family and police think the couple argued over money and bills and then Glenna pulled out a gun and shot her husband.

There were no human witness of the crime, but their parrot keeps repeating words that make it appear that Glenna really did kill Martin.

The parrot kept repeating a conversation and apparently it was the conversation that Marin had with his wife before the crime occurred.

“Get out” and “Don’t f*ck*ng shoot me” are two of the phrases that the bird started quoting just weeks after the killing. The family and prosecutors say these were Martin’s last words before his wife shot him.

Can the bird really be used as a witness? Maybe.

The courts in Michigan are trying to decide if the parrot’s testimony will even be allowed in court, but it isn’t out of the question.

When asked about the case, the prosecuting attorney Robert Springstead made the following comment about the parrot.

“It’s an interesting novelty and it’s been a great opportunity for me to learn about African parrots. It is something we are going to be looking at to determine if it’s reliable to use or if its information we need to prosecute this case.”

Check back to Liberty News Now as we follow this strange case.

Last night Donald Trump put on an event to thank the voters from Mississippi and Michigan and something happened. It was a different Trump. See for yourselves.

Last night the Trump Train continued to steam through the GOP primary in what has become a historical and unprecedented campaign. Hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of broadcast hours have been dedicated to mock, marginalize and downright make fun of Donald Trump. It hasn’t worked.

Standing on a stage with 10 American flags standing in front of a presidential blue backdrop, Trump held and event to discuss his wins from Tuesday’s voting.

Trump has become both loved and hated for his brash demeanor on stage and with interviews. He makes fun of people who attack him and he doesn’t sound like any president we have ever had in America.

That mold was shattered on Tuesday night when he spoke to members and supporters at Trump National Golf Club in Florida. His voice was calm, he was poised and he thanked a lot of people to start his speech.

His tenacity was still there, his confidence was still there, but with his tone and the way he delivered this speech, it is clear that Donald Trump is turning a corner.

No longer is Trump worried about rising to the top out of 17 GOP candidates, but now he is shifting his focus to the general election. His on stage persona is toning it down and getting more inline with the real Donald Trump.

There were a lot of candidates that looked presidential during the primary, but most of them are gone and Trump’s personality has solidified himself as the frontrunner.

Now it looks as he is going to work to bring the party together and that starts with a change from Trump. Toning down the anti-GOP rhetoric and he did that last night. Speaking very highly and complementary of Speaker Paul Ryan, and calling for the party to rally behind Trump’s leadership.

Trump is without a doubt bringing in new people to vote republican for the first time, and if he can continue to move towards the path of “looking” more presidential, then we might see the GOP party rally behind Trump.

It that happens, then there is no way Hillary would be able to stop the Trump Train. Heck, she can’t even stop coughing.

Water Amnesty

Caving into the demands of the open borders movement and pro-immigrant Spanish media, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will refrain from enforcing immigration laws in areas of Flint, Michigan affected by a water crisis. The water amnesty is the latest of many reprieves issued by the Obama administration to help illegal immigrants nationwide. Judicial Watch has reported on many of them, including recent hurricane, earthquake, Ebola and “severe weather” amnesties.

This one involves the widely reported water situation in Flint, which is located about 66 miles northwest of Detroit. Last year researchers discovered that the city’s drinking water was contaminated with lead from decaying old pipes. The problem arose after a switch in 2014 in the city’s water source to save money. Soon complaints mounted that the water smelled and looked strange and academic researchers discovered that it was toxic. This all occurred after a 7-1 vote by the Flint City Council to stop buying Detroit water and join a new pipeline project, according to a local news report.

Now there’s a state of emergency and the feds have stepped in, supplying the area with free bottled water and special filters to install at home until the local water supply is clean. For weeks immigrant rights groups complained that residents had to show identification to receive their free goods from the government and illegal aliens were being left out. National Spanish-language media outlets blasted the Obama administration for discriminating against illegal aliens. Onereported that undocumented immigrants weren’t getting help for fear of being deported, instead opting to drink contaminated water or pay out of pocket to buy some. Another major Spanish-language newspaper wrote that illegal immigrants and their children suffered lead poisoning and couldn’t get clean emergency water because they didn’t have identification cards. “When the National Guard went door to door distributing potable water, many were scared to open because they feared the uniformed persons were immigration agents who would deport them,” the paper wrote.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which claims to combat bigotry and protect civil rights for all, joined the cause expressing “horror” and “indignation” that the government denied undocumented immigrants free water and filters because they couldn’t provide a photo ID or Social Security number. In a Spanish-languagestatement the group’s Michigan chapter referred to news reports that Flint-area fire department stations distributing water were requiring identification. But even in places that aren’t requiring ID, illegal immigrants are scared to come out and get their potable water out of fear that they will be deported, the ADL stresses in its announcement. “We are calling on the National Guard to order all fire departments and other centers distributing supplies that no one be rejected.”

Like a good lapdog the Obama administration obliged. This week DHS issued a statement—in English and Spanish—guaranteeing that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would not conduct enforcement operations at or near locations distributing clean water in Flint or surrounding areas. “Moreover, DHS officials do not and will not pose as individuals providing water-related information or distributing clean water as part of any enforcement activities,” the statement assures. The agency’s priority is to support state and local government efforts to distribute clean water, the statement says, adding that DHS stands “ready to assist those in need.”

The new Flint water amnesty is part of a broader effort by the administration to seize all opportunities to assist illegal immigrants. Earlier in the year DHS rewarded undocumented aliens living in the Southern and Midwest flood region with a special “severe weather immigration relief.” This type of emergency amnesty is granted under a program reserved for “special situations” like natural catastrophes beyond human control, according to DHS. The U.S. government offers similar benefits for immigrants who claim they can’t return to their home country due to “civil unrest” or “severe environmental disasters.” Examples include tens of thousands of Hondurans and Nicaraguans getting amnesty after a hurricane and tens of thousands of Haitians in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake.

gay-affair

Here’s a story you don’t see every day: a Republican lawmaker in Michigan faked a gay sex scandal–in order to hide his illicit relationship with a fellow female politician.

Todd Courser, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, had been having an affair with Michigan State Representative Cindy Gamrat, who is also a Republican. Both were married with children at the time of the affair.

Fearful that fellow Republicans were about to blow the whistle on their extramarital relationship, he decided to go nuclear–by creating a completely different scandal, in order to distract and mislead.

Courser ordered his (now-former) aide, Ben Graham, to blast an email to the possible whistleblowers, “exposing” Courser being caught having sex with a male prostitute at a Lansing, Michigan, nightclub.

Courser gave specific instructions for the email–including making sure he was described as an “alcoholic, drug-addicted bisexual monster.” Graham secretly recorded those planning conversations.

When Graham eventually refused to send the email, Courser fired him–and accused him of being a pawn in the possible exposure of Courser and Gamrat’s actual affair.

Predictably, Republicans in Michigan are angry at both politicians for the damage its done to the reputation of the party and to Michigan’s state government in general.

“If this weren’t so offensive, it might be funny,” said Michigan Speaker of the House Kevin Cotter, also a Republican.

“These two representatives voluntarily engaged in the affair and they need to own up to that. There are 107 other members of the House currently serving. It’s so unfair to this institution as a whole and it’s so unfair that we have this type of distraction.”
