Things Get Worse for Killer Cop

Michael Slager, the North Charleston police officer caught on video fatally shooting a fleeing suspect eight times in the back, just can’t catch a break.

Two pieces of audio, recorded shortly after the shooting of Walter Scott, reveal that Slager actually laughed the crime off.

One of the audio comes from a discussion with another officer, who told Slager, “It’d probably be a good idea to jot down your thoughts about whatever happened … once the adrenaline stops pumping.”

Slager responded: “It’s pumping!” and laughed.

Remember, this is a cop who just shot and killed a fleeing man–and then allegedly, according to the video, planted his Taser on the victim, to corroborate his story that Scott had stolen his Taser and posed an immediate threat.

Slager’s legal problems are compounded by a new lawsuit filed by a man named Julius Garnett Wilson, who alleges that Slager used his Taser on him in 2014, when he was lying face-down on the pavement. Wilson, like Scott, was pulled over for driving with a broken taillight. That incident was also caught on video.

It remains to be seen what fate awaits Slager. For killing Walter Scott, he faces life in prison, but is not eligible for the death penalty.
